On April 9, 2024, the nation will celebrate National Library Workers Day (NLWD), a time to recognize library staff for their contributions in transforming lives and communities. The Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) of the 精东传媒 has named Emma K. McNamara and Don Michael Jr. as the 2024 winners of the SRRT Conference Travel Grants to attend the upcoming 2024 精东传媒Annual Conference in San Diego, CA. The SRRT Conference Travel Grants sponsored by the Social Responsibilities Round Table help finance SRRT member attendance at the 精东传媒Annual Conference. The $1000 award covers limited fees related to airfare, lodging, and conference registration. SRRT funds up to two applicants per year.

Cathi Fuhrman receives the AASL Intellectual Freedom Award
Cathi Fuhrman, a school librarian at State College Area High School, Pennsylvania, is the recipient of the 2024 American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) Intellectual Freedom Award. Established in 1982 and sponsored by ProQuest, the award is given for upholding the principles of intellectual freedom as set forth by AASL and ALA.
New from ACRL - 鈥淯niversal Design for Learning in Academic Libraries: Theory into Practice鈥
The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) announces the publication of “Universal Design for Learning in Academic Libraries: Theory into Practice,” edited by Danielle Skaggs and Rachel M. McMullin. It includes lesson plans and strategies for the wide range of instructional activities that occur in academic libraries, including in-person, online, synchronous, asynchronous, and research help, as well as different types of academic library work such as access services and leadership.
