The LIRT Librarian Recognition Award is given to acknowledge a practicing librarian's contribution to the development, advancement, and support of information literacy and instruction. The award is open to any practicing librarian who participates in instruction/information literacy activities in any type of library. Instruction need not be the main focus of their position. The award will be awarded based on any of the following:

These contributions can consist of both formal and informal publications (peer reviewed articles and book chapters, blog postings, newsletter contributions, etc.) Non-traditional forms of publishing will be considered.

  • Impactful participation within local, regional, national, and/or international level professional organizations that are devoted to the support and promotion of library instruction and information literacy in any type of library.
