Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-CA) said he wants to do for libraries what John Kennedy did for the space program. He received FOLUSA's 1996 Public Service Award from President Stan Walker during Library Legislative Day, in Washington. He was a leading in including a Library Services and Technology Consolidation Grant to renew and refocus LSCA in the Careers Act passed by the House.
