The Coretta Scott King Award is presented annually by the Coretta Scott King Task Force of the ¾«¶«´«Ã½'s Social Responsibilities Round Table. Recipients are authors and illustrators of African descent whose books promote an understanding and appreciation of the "American Dream." The Award commemorates the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and honors his widow, Coretta Scott King, for her efforts in continuing the work for peace and world brotherhood.



The Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) is an organization of the ¾«¶«´«Ã½, which provides a forum for the exchange of information on library materials in English and other languages. EMIERT promotes service for all ethnolinguistic and multicultural communities in general, and serves as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
