Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States with Explanatory Text

CHICAGO- The newly revised Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States with Explanatory Text (2023) has been approved by the Board of Directors and is now in effect.

Anyone in the United States who handles interlibrary loan requests or supervises resource sharing operations should read and familiarize themselves with the new . To facilitate your careful reading, you may also wish to consult the which highlights areas of substantial change.

The ¾«¶«´«Ã½RUSA STARS Codes, Guidelines, and Technical Standards Committee wishes to thank everyone in the U.S. interlibrary loan community who reviewed prior versions of the documents and provided our committee with feedback during the Fall 2021, Fall 2022, and Spring 2023 public comment periods. The principles found within the newly revised documents belong to all of us and recognize that the sharing of material between libraries is a core library service to be encouraged and is in the public interest.
