CHICAGO — The Public Library Association (PLA) 2023 Nominating Committee has unveiled the slate of candidates for the Association’s 2023 Election. This year, eight nominees will stand for four positions on the PLA Board of Directors: 2024-2025 president, two directors-at-large, and division councilor.

The candidate elected in each race will serve a three-year term from July 2023 through June 2026. The candidate elected to the office of president will serve one year as president-elect (2023-2024), one year as president (2024-2025), and one year as immediate past-president (2025–2026).

PLA personal members should renew their PLA memberships by January 31, 2023, to be eligible to vote. Online voting opens Monday, March 13, and ends Wednesday, April 5. Each eligible PLA member will receive an email containing voting instructions and their unique ballot URL.
