Core Webinar: Best of Core Forum: Reinventing the Modern Library

ý

CHICAGO–Core will host the webinar “Reinventing the Modern Library” on February 2, 2023, at 1 p.m. CT. Hear how one library undertook a major renovation project during the pandemic to modernize its public spaces and respond to community needs. The presenters, one architect and two library directors, will take attendees inside the process of making the case for a renovation, listening to users, identifying major design objectives, and completing the project on-time and under-budget even with many challenges thrown in the way. They will also share how their community has responded to the redesigned library and highlight the ways they prioritized accessibility and inclusion. Innovative design solutions for collections, study and meeting rooms, experiential learning spaces, and outdoor gathering spaces will be featured. Participants will come away with ideas for innovative design solutions for the modern library and leadership tips for managing a large scale building project.

This webinar was previously presented in-person as a session at the 2022 Core Forum. We are hosting this webinar, with the session adapted and presented live as a virtual event, to extend its reach.
