Making the Most Out of Free Historical Resources

This webinar will allow the participant to discover a plethora of primary sources to be provided within an instructional service, reference service desk, or personal consultation with a researcher. The webinar will look at each area of history (America. European, and the World) to locate and the usability of resources for those perfect resources to either complete a research paper or ensure faculty success within a future publication.

This presentation, by Amy Dye-Reeves, is relevant to anyone wanting to locate free historical resources for incorporation within the reference and instructional services for faculty, students and staff.

Canva and Design for Libraries: Page Layout and Social Media Design

Creating a social media post, a flyer, or poster is now easier than ever with Canva, but what if you’re not where to start? In this workshop, you will learn the basic skills in formatting your designs in Canva. Learn skills and principles that will help you develop a design eye and translate your thoughts and ideas to designs. As a bonus, you will learn how to use stock photography and other tools to expand your resources. This workshop will detail step-by-step instructions with practical application and live demonstrations throughout.

This presentation although beginner-intermediate level by Jennifer Blair, is for library staff who are charged with or interested in improving the library’s marketing materials such as social media and flyers.

Quiet Leadership: Foster your identity as an introverted or quiet leader to inspire beyond words

Quiet or introverted leadership challenges the extroverted norms and expectations by promoting a healthy and successful working environment through modesty, humility, and action. The presenter, Jennifer Blair, is the Head of User Services Librarian and Associate Professor at Azusa Pacific University (APU). Her role is dedicated to the user experience, including marketing the library, and teaching She has extensive teaching online course in design and computer literacy.
