CHICAGO—Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures is pleased to announce that Lauren Tubbs has been named as a Core Emerging Leader (EL). Currently working as the program manager for the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala. and an adjunct professor of English Literature at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, her library interests include digital humanities, academic libraries, reference, collection development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in the 2022 Class of ¾«¶«´«Ã½Emerging Leaders Program.” Tubbs says. “I can’t wait to meet my cohort and make a difference for the profession and for ¾«¶«´«Ã½as well.”

One of 49 library workers chosen from across the U.S. and Canada, Tubbs will participate in project planning work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into the ¾«¶«´«Ã½structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. Following a kickoff session at the ¾«¶«´«Ã½LibLearnX virtual event, the program will continue in an online learning and networking environment for six months, culminating in a presentation of the groups' work at the 2022 ¾«¶«´«Ã½Annual Conference in Washington D.C. this June.
