Learn Information Technology Fluency and Poster Design in this Core Webinar

This webinar will discuss technological gaps in knowledge and best practices when creating research posters. Using the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education, this webinar will identify several opportunities for information technology fluency that can be embedded in poster design. Finally, this webinar will highlight several tools and resources to create posters and to stay informed on technological changes over time.

Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, and Futures, will present the webinar “,” on Wednesday, December 2, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Central Time.

Upon completion of this session attendees will be able to:

  • Analyze the landscape of research poster use in higher education
  • Understand technical components for designing posters, such as scalable vector graphics.
  • Identify programs to complete said technical components while considering digital standards.
  • Weigh pros and cons of highlighted programs in terms of access, equity, and privacy.
  • Become familiar with sources to stay informed on products and applications.

Presenter:

Faye Mazzia is the Electronic & Technical Services Librarian at Touro University Nevada.

Faye is a Las Vegas native and obtained her MLIS from University of Arizona. Interests include information technology, research, digital archiving, and geospatial information systems.
