New session: Using Surveys to Improve Your Library Workshop

CHICAGO—¾«¶«´«Ã½Publishing eLearning Solutions announces a new session of our popular workshop, with Emily Daly. This workshop will consist of two 90-minute sessions and take place at 2:30pm Eastern/1:30 Central/12:30 Mountain/11:30am Pacific on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 and Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

Surveys are a great way to gather user feedback that you can analyze to help enhance your library’s services and increase patron satisfaction. In this two-part workshop, assessment expert Emily Daly provides you with the knowledge you need to employ effective surveys that gather crucial data. In the first session, you’ll be introduced to survey planning, piloting, and methods for selecting your sample populations. The second session will focus on survey design and implementation with an overview of a popular survey creation tool. You’ll gain useful tips on how to implement surveys and the best strategies to write effective, actionable, and unbiased survey questions. You’ll walk away with practical skills that will help you gather useful data to make informed decisions for your library.

About the Instructor

Emily Daly is Head of Assessment & User Experience and Librarian for Education at Duke University Libraries in Durham, NC. She leads Duke Libraries’ website and assessment teams and plans and conducts user research related to the Libraries’ website, services, collections and spaces. Prior to working at Duke, Emily taught high school English, served as the teen librarian at Natrona County Public Library in Casper, Wyoming, and worked as a librarian in Durham, North Carolina. Emily is on the editorial team of College & Research Libraries News and a member of ACRL’s Board of Directors.
