CHICAGO – Feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the great apps out there and not sure where to start? The 2017 list of the American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) Best Apps for Teaching & Learning will be explored during a live webinar on Wed., Oct 25, at 6:00 p.m. Central. The Best Apps list features apps of exceptional value for inquiry-based teaching and learning. Registration is now open at .

During the webinar two members of the 2017 Best Apps committee, Deb Logan and Joyce Valenza, will give an overview of the 2017 list and highlight their personal favorites. Logan and Valenza will also share ideas for using these apps in everyday practice. Webinar participants can share their ideas on app uses during an “app chat.”

Logan is a veteran school librarian and is currently the gifted coordinator and elementary makerspace teacher for Pleasant Local Schools in central Ohio. She serves as the vice president of the Ohio Educational Library Media Association and is chairing the 2018 Best Apps committee.

Valenza is a former school librarian and is currently an assistant professor of teaching at Rutgers University where she prepares future school librarians. She is a Milken Educator, a Google Certified Teacher, and an American Memory Fellow. Valzenza was recently named an inaugural AASL Social Media Superstar in the Leadership Luminary category.
