CHICAGO – The 2017 list of the American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) Best Websites for Teaching & Learning will be explored during a live webinar on Tues., Aug. 29, at 6:00 p.m. Central. One of the most anticipated releases of educational resources each year, AASL Best Websites for Teaching & Learning provide school librarians and other educators with web-based tools of exceptional value for inquiry-based teaching and learning.

During the webinar, Heather Moorefield-Lang, chair of the 2016-2017 best websites committee, will delve into the 25 websites for 2017. The sites fall into the categories digital storytelling, social media and communication, media sharing, manage and organize, curriculum collaboration, and content resources. The fast-paced, highly informative session will investigate the characteristics of each website to help participants select the best online tool for future technology-integration projects/lessons.

Moorefield-Lang is an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina in the School of Library and Information Science. She received her Masters in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her doctorate in Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research is focused on emerging technologies and their use in education and libraries.
