EMIERT accepting proposals for 2017 ¾«¶«´«Ã½Annual Conference

CHICAGO – The ¾«¶«´«Ã½Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) is now accepting proposals for presentations highlighting ethnic and multicultural library programs at ALA’s Annual Conference in Chicago.

EMIERT invites proposals for presentations that showcase innovative projects, latest trends and best practices and research ideas in the broad field of ethnic and multicultural librarianship. The selected sessions will be presented during the 2017 ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (ALA) Annual Conference, June 22-27 in Chicago. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016.

Suggested topics related to ethnic and multicultural librarianship include, but are not limited to, these concepts:

  • Collaborations/Partnerships
  • Community engagement projects
  • Diversity initiatives
  • Mentoring/Teaching/Learning
  • Methods and tools
  • Preserving cultural memory
  • Services, collections, and programs to target populations
  • Value and impact

Program submissions will be evaluated by the EMIERT Annual Conference Programming Committee, with selected presentations exhibiting relevance to ethnic and multicultural librarianship, useful and practical learning objectives, broad appeal, clarity of description and originality.
