Run for ¾«¶«´«Ã½President-elect or Councilor-at-Large by petition

¾«¶«´«Ã½

CHICAGO - ¾«¶«´«Ã½members may run for ¾«¶«´«Ã½office by petition for the position of ¾«¶«´«Ã½President-elect or ¾«¶«´«Ã½Councilor at Large. Individuals who are interested in running by petition or were not selected by the ¾«¶«´«Ã½Nominating Committee may run for office by filing an electronic petition. The ¾«¶«´«Ã½Nominating Committee will begin notifying nominated candidates by the end of October 2023.

Members who are interested in running by petition may do so by completing an e-petition form:

  1. with the signatures of no fewer than 200 ¾«¶«´«Ã½current personal members.
  2. with the signatures of no fewer than 25 ¾«¶«´«Ã½current personal members.

In addition to the petition itself, members must complete a . The information submitted on this form will be used for the web ballot. Once the petition process is completed, petition candidates and nominated candidates are treated exactly the same. They are not differentiated on the ballot because they are on equal footing and are all viable candidates for these positions.

The petition period for the 2024 election opens October 1, 2023 and will close on December 31, 2023.

Ballot mailing for the 2024 ¾«¶«´«Ã½election will begin on March 11, 2024, and will run through April 3, 2024. Renew your membership by January 31, 2024 to ensure that you receive your ballot for the 2024 ¾«¶«´«Ã½election. Renew your membership or by calling 1-800-545-2433, option 1.
