CHICAGO — The ¾«¶«´«Ã½ (ALA) has announced the names of the 61 candidates who are running for a total of 40 at-large seats on the ¾«¶«´«Ã½Council. That number includes 32 councilor-at-large seats for the 2023-2026 term, two councilor at-large seats to serve until 2025, five councilor at-large seats to serve until 2024, and one councilor at-large seat to serve until 2023.

Members who are not selected by the Nominating Committee may still run for office by petition. Those interested in running for ¾«¶«´«Ã½Council by petition have until 11:59 p.m. CDT on Dec. 31, 2022 . The petition must have the signatures of no fewer than 25 current personal members.

Candidates must electronically with the petition. and additional election information is available on the ¾«¶«´«Ã½Election page.

Ballot mailing for the ¾«¶«´«Ã½election will begin on Monday, March 13, 2023 and will run through Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
