CHICAGO — , and director of the , has been appointed editor of the Journal of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy (JIFP) through the fall of 2018.

Additionally, , assistant professor at the School of Information Science, College of Communication & Information, at the University of Kentucky will serve as associate editor, working with Michael Zimmer on content and editorial guidelines for the journal. , dean of the Kraemer Family Library at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, has agreed to serve as production editor, managing article submissions.

The (JIFP), a quarterly journal published by the ¾«¶«´«Ã½'s (ALA) Office for Intellectual Freedom, provides a forum for discourse on intellectual freedom and privacy issues arising in libraries, archives and educational institutions. The Journal of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy is available by subscription for $50 per year. Individual and institutional subscriptions are available online via the .

The ¾«¶«´«Ã½Office for Intellectual Freedom is charged with implementing ¾«¶«´«Ã½policies concerning the concept of intellectual freedom as embodied in the Library Bill of Rights, the association’s basic policy on free access to libraries and library materials. The goal of the office is to educate librarians and the public about the nature and importance of intellectual freedom in libraries.
