WASHINGTON, D.C. – Gwen Glazer, a graduate student at Syracuse University pursuing her master’s in Library and Information Studies, was recently selected as the for the ¾«¶«´«Ã½’s Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP).

Google Policy Fellows work for 10 weeks during the summer at other public interest organizations involved in debates on broadband and access policy, copyright reform, online privacy and open government. This year’s host organizations include the ¾«¶«´«Ã½, Future of Music Coalition, Progress and Freedom Foundation, Technology Policy Institute, Competitive Enterprise Institute, Public Knowledge, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic, Center for Democracy and Technology, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Internet Education Foundation, National Hispanic Media Coalition, Citizen Lab, Media Access Project, Creative Commons, CATO Institute and New America Foundation.

Glazer is currently a staff writer and editor for Cornell University Library in Ithaca, N.Y., and has previously served as managing editor for NationalJournal.com.

Dr. Alan Inouye, director of OITP, says Glazer’s experience and academic achievements will be an asset to the ¾«¶«´«Ã½during her time as a fellow.

“¾«¶«´«Ã½is pleased to participate once again in the Google Policy Fellows program,” Inouye said. “It serves as an effective mechanism to encourage graduate students to pursue careers in information policy in the public interest.”

Glazer will begin her fellowship on May 24.
