Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

¾«¶«´«Ã½

The ¾«¶«´«Ã½ strives to “provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.” To help ¾«¶«´«Ã½accomplish this, equity, diversity, and inclusion have been identified as ALA's 4th strategic goal. Equity, diversity, inclusion, literacy, and outreach are part of the work across the ¾«¶«´«Ã½. None of these areas should be delegated to one office. It is where these issues intersect with social justice that the Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services (ODLOS) provides leadership, education, and consultation.
