The winner does not need to be a member of ALA, RUSA, or BRASS but preference will be given to those that are, indeed members. Applicants should be an academic librarian with five or fewer years of experience in business librarianship or be a new (less than five years) member to BRASS.

Nominations for the award may be made by any member of the ��ý. Nominations are invited and judged by the LITA/Library Hi Tech Awards Committee. A press release from the LITA office will announce details of the nominating process each year.

Criteria

The award many be given to an individual or institution for a single seminal work, or a body of work, taking place within (or continuing into) the five years preceding the award.

Nominations must include the name(s) of the recipient(s), basis for nomination, and references to the body of work and should be submitted using using the online nomination form.

For the purpose of this award, "information technology" shall be defined as "any technology or combination of technologies that enables students and teachers to access, integrate, manage and produce information in a wide variety of formats." Eligibility

Any library-related project is eligible for the award. Projects from the award sponsors are ineligible for consideration. Projects of the STS Chair / Vice-Chair while those persons are in office are ineligible from consideration.

Criteria

Projects nominated for the award should inspire information professionals to overcome obstacles in the profession, and should demonstrate creativity, quality and innovation within the context of national trends in science and technology librarianship. Projects should meet at least three of the following criteria:
Preference may be given to recent projects; however, historical projects that have demonstrated impact are also eligible for consideration. Preference may be given to library projects in partnership with academic college or research libraries; however, any projects that demonstrate impact on the science and technology academic community are also eligible for consideration.

Nominations must include a description of the innovative project, and sufficient supporting documentation for the committee to understand the purpose, content, impact, and innovative aspects of the program. Note: Electronic submissions are required.
